The Romance Literary Festival invites you to immerse yourself in a world where love stories come alive. Taking place in Larne Market Yard, the Romance Literary Festival is a two-day event designed to bring together romance readers and authors in a meaningful, engaging way.
Day one is a signing event, where readers can meet their favourite authors, discover new books, and celebrate a shared love of romance. Day two shifts focus to authors, offering a collaborative space for learning, connection, and growth through writing sessions, discussions, and opportunities to share knowledge and experience.

Why Does The Romance Literary Festival Matter?
Romance literature is one of the most widely read and commercially successful genres globally, yet it remains consistently underrepresented within literary programming across Northern Ireland. Local festivals, bookshops, and cultural events have historically prioritised other genres, resulting in limited opportunities for romance authors—particularly independent authors—and their readers to engage with one another in a dedicated, visible space.
Many authors within this space operate independently and lack access to traditional literary platforms, while readers have limited opportunities to attend events that reflect their interests.
The Romance Literary Festival aims to address this imbalance by creating an inclusive, accessible event that centres romance literature and its community.
